Officially a letter, document, or book holder from the 19th century. Of course, it's also suitable for other purposes. Made in Germany by Carpe Diem, designed by Ernst Georg Zimmermann. Made of iron and then bronzed. Embossed hunting motif. Sturdy octagonal stand. Front with a flexible, movable clamp to hold the document in place. Wooden support for document, letter, or book. The whole is in beautiful, undamaged condition with normal signs of wear consistent with age. See the photos. Solid, heavy quality.
