A breathtakingly large Art Nouveau jardinière/centerpiece. Made of bronze and then silver-plated.
Designed and made by the French master goldsmith Victor Saglier (1809-1894)
He was known for his Art Nouveau productions.
The jardiniere still has its original inner container, no leaks, self-tested.
What's special is that the container has a base, which is often not the case. Even the inner rim is finished.
The whole is in beautiful, undamaged condition with normal, minor signs of wear consistent with its age. Please see the photos. The silver plating is still beautiful. This jardinière has been beautifully preserved despite its age.
Marked on the bottom with VS and a three-master logo.
Ready to use or purely for decoration because it is so beautiful.
