Holy Gospel, Large size in sterling silver gilt
Large-format Bible, Holy Gospel written in Greek. The book is bound in a handmade, thick, solid silver cover, partially gilded, creating a beautiful contrast. The edges are silver-plated.
This has been tested by a renowned appraiser. Both the front and back cover feature various highly detailed biblical scenes in relief. The spine has a relief decoration. The whole is in very beautiful, undamaged condition with normal signs of wear due to age and use. The gilding is somewhat worn here and there, and some pages show specks (candle wax). The silver also has some red, green, and white candle wax. You can, of course, remove this if desired. It was deliberately left unremoved because the book has a history.
