Hand-painted Russian lacquer box with a mythological theme featuring Sirin as the main character. Sirin is a beautiful woman with the body of a bird. She symbolizes eternal joy and heavenly happiness. Her wings are decorated with mother-of-pearl, creating a shimmering reflection when moved. I can't capture this in the photos. Beautiful warm tones. It is in wonderful, undamaged condition. The hinge is also still intact, and the lid closes securely.
